Welcome to the newly designed website of the Freetown Fire Department. Our department comprises 15 career firefighters and 13 paid-on-call firefighters. We provide fire protection and emergency services for a diverse community, encompassing residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural areas, a large bio-reserve, two major highways, and two commuter rail lines. Additionally, we are equipped to handle salt and fresh water marine responses, as well as Advanced Life Support EMS.
I joined the Freetown Fire Department in April of 1985 as a Call Firefighter. Later that year, I attended and completed EMT School. By 1988, I became certified as an EMT Intermediate and attained the rank of Call Lieutenant in 1990. In 1994, I was promoted to Call Captain, assigned to Station 2, and in 1996, I obtained my Paramedic certification. Progressing further, I became a career Firefighter/Paramedic in January of 2000, and a Career Lieutenant/Paramedic in 2009. Serving as the department Training Officer from 2013 until my promotion to Deputy Chief in 2018.
In January of 2023, I was appointed Chief of the Department. It is with great honor that I have served the Town of Freetown in various capacities. Leading the dedicated members of the fire department is an even greater privilege.
